City Beneath the Pyramids: I would caution equating ancient with lack of knowledge. All of humanity would have disbursed from the tower of babel and would have been constructing a similar large structure. The ancient large structures seem to have similar properties. Further, prior to the flood, humanity lived significantly longer than now that would have allowed them to accumulate significant knowledge that would allow them to do these great wonders (i.e ark, tower of babel, etc.). We have seen this in more recent years where the Romans had significant amounts of technology that was lost to the passage of time until we rediscovered it. For example, the Romans were able to have concrete set under water, but then the knowledge was lost and we had to relearn it.
