THOUGHTCRIME Ep. 145 — Public Executions? Team Sports vs. Striver Culture?

Charlie became a hero to millions not just for his takes on politics, but because he had so much wisdom about life at such a young age. This compilation collects some of his best pieces of advice for young people. Charlie lays out the importance of creating a hierarchy of goods, why self-mastery should come before self-esteem, the need to acquire about practical knowledge and eternal knowledge, and a lot more.

One of Charlie’s most debated topics was abortion, and he was virtually certain to get asked about it at just about every campus debate he conducted. At Purdue University, Charlie educates a young man who equates abortion to welcoming in a homeless person, and offers a thorough defense of the unborn that is a model any Christian could learn from.

Mike Ditka was an all-time great NFL coach and one of Charlie’s heroes. The show remembers the Bears legend after his passing, then hits critical campaign news out of Arizona and debate highlights from Michigan, while Mark Halperin weighs in on the mysterious vanishing of James Talarico. Then, it’s another hour of questions from subscribers, such as what Charlie’s favorite national park was, where to get the right Bible, and what the message has to be toward low-propensity voters.

The Democrat candidate running against Abe Hamadeh has made spectacular allegations that she was raped by two random men who called her a “Democratic b***h.” The show reacts to this highly dubious, highly inflammatory allegation, and links it to a long history of political hoaxes from the left. Liz Collin talks about the Somali terrorist caught plotting to shoot up the Mall of America, and explains the larger decline in Minnesota and whether this could lead to a GOP upset in November. Peachy Keenan dissects the disturbing wave of possible Lindsay Clancy copycat killers.
